Café Klima recommends Waves of Changes
📦 Moving to a new region, let alone a new country, can be challenging. From the start, it was clear to me that I wanted to quickly find my ‘new family’- a community where shared values are not just spoken about but acted upon. For me, this meant seeking out an organization in the region working towards a more sustainable world. Through France’s national volunteer website, I stumbled upon Waves of Change Coalition.
To be honest, what initially drew me to Waves of Change was the fact that they had an English website. I thought to myself, "At least someone speaks English here!" 😅 Waves of Change is an organization dedicated to breaking down silos between government, business, and non-profits to accelerate the green 💚 and blue 💙 economy. One of the main events where this happens is the annual Forum held in June in Biarritz.
After a warm conversation with Nicolas Occhiminuti, I jumped on board, planning to facilitate some sessions at the upcoming Forum. Being part of the preparation and execution of the forum taught me a great deal about working in a French environment, and my network in the region grew rapidly. Through these connections, I met Matthieu Haslé, who then introduced me to Humans By Nature where I met Fanny Bronès. You can read more about this journey that led to Café Klima in one of our previous posts.
➡ Fast forward to today, as we approach my third Forum, where I not only facilitated but also co-hosted on the main stage last year. I’m also involved in Waves of Change’s Talent program, and a strong partnership has formed between Waves of Change and Café Klima. We regularly refer new contacts from Waves of Change to Café Klima to meet like-minded individuals in the region, Waves of Change members have attended Café Klima and participants of Café Klima have joined Waves of Change. Through my work with Café Klima, I’m also bringing more attention to "inner climate" within Waves of Change.
Have a look at the great initiatives in the region. You’ll find the links in the comments.
